  • The end of the 2012 growing season was ideal for ripening and produced indulgent fruit and well-structured tannins. The classic marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot combines structure and elegance. The classic Medoc gravel soils provide for minerality throughout the long finish.
• Red, Urbina, Rioja Crianza 2009, Rioja, Spain £30.00
  • Bodegas Urbina is a family-owned wine estate situated in one of the most prestigious regions of Rioja Alta known to produce grapes with elegance and structure as well as some of the longest lived wines in Rioja. Made with 95% tempranillo from 20 year old vines, this crianza displays aromas of dried berries combined with vanilla and toasty notes. The palate evolves with silky tannins and a long finish.
• White, Domaine François Raquillet, Mercurey La Brigadiere 2017, Burgundy, France £45.00
  • Recognised as, possibly, the best producer in the village, François, the 11th generation of grape growers in Mercurey, has 10 hectares of superbly sited, mostly old, vines. “La Brigadière” is a delicious revelation, it displays a complex nose filled with citrus fruits and hints of roasted hazelnuts and toasted brioche. This leads onto a lingering palate of lemon and spice.

Emmanuelle Baude is committed to the environment and the domaine has been certified organic since 2012. This aromatic, refreshing and elegant Provence Rosé boasts flavors of wild strawberries and other red fruits. It is elegant and refreshing.

  • The 2017 vintage was at the same time complex in the vineyard and outstanding in the result. The yield of this year was very limited due to the unexpected changes in the climatology throughout the season. Nevertheless, the experienced team of Schloss Lieser was able to handpick a high quality Riesling with a perfect balance between the subtle acidity & sweetness.

 Bedales’ Hidden Gems

• Orange, Nando, Black Label Rebula 2016, Primorska, Slovenia £40.00
  • 100% Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) grapes that were farmed organically from a tiny 0.25ha plot. The wine spent 40 days on the skin and and a further 18 months in 500l oak barrels. After this the wine was allowed to mature in stainless steel vats for 24 months before being bottled without fining or filtration.
• Red,Casaretti, Bardolino Classico La Nogara 2016, Veneto, Italy £25.00
  • Right at the heart of the traditional wine growing region of Bardolino, the estate Azienda Agricola Casaretti is located among morainic hills on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. Relying on over 100 years of tradition, we produce all of the wines that are typical of our region. This wine shows an intense bouquet, fruity, lightly vinous, and harmonious palate.
• Red, Chateau Ka, Fleur De Ka 2007, Bekaa, Lebanon £60.00
  • Shortly after the first wines were made, Lebanon was engulfed by war. The winery was forced to close and Akram moved into other businesses. Finally in 2005 he announced that he was going to try again. Today's Château Ka is the only winery in Lebanon that produces wine entirely from their own vineyards. Akram produces both rich, concentrated reds and beautifully fresh, fruity, crisp white wines that are some of the finest in the country.

• Sweet - Niepoort LBV Port 2014, Douro, Portugal £45.00
  • This wine undergoes 4 to 6 years ageing in large vats before being bottled, resulting in a wine of a Vintage Port style with its deep colour and concentration of fruit but with a more mature character due to the extended ageing period in wood.
